Ergonomics Assessment Platform (EAP) is an innovative software designed specifically for conducting real-time ergonomics assessments within industrial settings. Concept: EAP, the new solution to assess ergonomics

A software that uses image recognition to allow automated physical ergonomics assessment.

EAP aims to democratize ergonomics assessments, addressing a significant challenge faced by small companies who struggle to afford evaluations for their workers due to resource constraints. By using EAP, all that is required is a camera and a computer to conduct these assessments. Workers themselves can perform them by recording their actions and analyzing them later, or they can be assessed in real time by a colleague. This system provides preliminary assessments, serving as an indicator for more specialized ones if necessary.

UI design concept

This proposal is a very premature proof of concept and would be refined in later phases.

The UI is split up into three sections, each of them corresponding to a functionality. Some measurements were considered when designing the interface to improve the user experience, such as good coupling between functionalities and visual sections; no hidden functionalities; visual cues like color and number coding for assessments; and visual feedback to check the AI performance.

The UI includes as well a menu bar located at the top, encompassing both general settings and settings specific to each section. Additionally, there is a state bar positioned at the bottom to provide the user with feedback on the ongoing action. The general settings within the menu bar offer various options, such as adjusting the image capture speed (frames per second or fps), enabling screen recording for future evaluation, and help and exit buttons.
